This first blog is to help you understand what a blog is and get you to start thinking about how you could integrate blogs into your teaching practice.
Some uses of blogs in foreign language education
• Public journaling, personal narrative and reporting
• Opinions and reactions to readings
• Responses to questions/topics
• Course portfolio
• Interactivity: Commenting and threaded discussion with text, images, videos, sounds
Your tasks:
1) Please write a short answer on one of these questions. To answer, click on 'comment' at the bottom of this post, and write your answer in the text space.
a. What experience do you have with blogs, in and out of the classroom?
b. What could be some applications of this technology to language teaching and learning?
2) Create a new blog post telling us about either how teachers currently use technology at your school or university or how you would like to use classroom technology with your students in the future. To create a new blog post, click on 'New Post' at the very top of this page. Feel free to add pictures or hyperlinks to your post!
3) When you finish creating your blog post, click on the link 'Using Blogs in the Classroom'. The link is on the left side of this page, just under 'Archive' so the the next group can see this post.
